A Chemical
Engineering and Manufacturing Company
Directive
The customer had a toller, a different company producing their product and
shipping it as if it was shipped from the customer, who could not meet the
automotive quality, packaging, shipping, or EDI requirements.
They needed me to assist the toller to get through the Q1 approval process
with Ford. If the customer did not do this, the customer would have lost some of the
Ford business.
Remarks
Ford business was at risk.
The toller was in the "red" category. I got them to "green".
The Ford
Engineer said the toller was the best Tier 2 facility he had seen and he
said he will recommend that the other Tier 2 facilities follow this toller's lead.
We prevented fines more than once. One distinct time, a fine was
inevitable had it not been for my involvement.
Results
Net savings for the first year was around $500,000.
The estimated efficiency improvement was around 40% and accuracy went from
frequently inaccurate to nearly 100% accurate.
ROI was less than 1 month.
