A Chemical
Engineering and Manufacturing Company
Directive
This is a $6 Billion chemical company breaking into the automotive supplier
business.
No one in the company understood the AIAG automotive requirements or how the
requirements impacted their business.
They needed someone to translate and identify how to meet the requirements.
This was essential for them to maintain their Ford business, secure more
Ford Business, and obtain more DaimlerChrysler business.
Remarks
The sales department, laboratories, shipping department, and customer service department were
relieved of investing exorbitant time and effort researching and assessing the requirements because they utilized my
services. I worked with each of the departments to implement systems
and procedures that allowed them to efficiently and effectively conform to the automotive
requirements with minimal disruption to their daily responsibilities.
Part of this effort included setting up an ANX connection, which was encouraged by the
automotive makers.
In addition, Ford has been known to charge a supplier $100,000 / hour if a plant is shut down
due to that supplier's issue. I prevented many of these issues and, two
distinct times, I prevented a fine from being imposed that was clearly
inevitable without my participation.
Results
Efficiency improvement increased approximately 51% and their accuracy went
from frequently inaccurate to nearly 100% accurate.
The ROI was about 3 months with significant revenue gains of about $600,000.
