Develop a customized user's manual and training program
for a new, third-party Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system prior
to implementation. The client's personnel were spread out across 14
locations in a tri-state area.
Remarks
Originally, the training program was going to be
developed in collaboration with a core group of employees who had already
evaluated the ERP system and familiarized themselves with the system's
functionality. Within a month or so, it was evident that:
the client was far from meeting the established go-live
date
the system had not been tested at any level
system enhancements were necessary prior to implementing
the ERP system
The directive grew to
include project management responsibilities along with application testing and
process definition.
Results
Converted successfully
to the new ERP system, preventing faulty implementation that was originally
planned.
The user's manual was developed and
personnel in all 14 locations were trained prior to implementation.
Accuracy of the system and processes
increased from about 80% to 100%.
