A Chemical
Engineering and Manufacturing Company
Directive
The customer had purchased over $100,000 of equipment a year prior. It had
been sitting in a closet not used.
They needed me to assess the equipment they had, determine if it would meet their
requirements, and determine whether or not the equipment could still be
used.
They also wanted me to get them up and running with the appropriate EDI
system.
Remarks
I determined the equipment would conform to their needs and implemented the
system with a software solution, migrating their existing EDI over to the
new system. This effectively utilized their existing investment and saved
them considerable additional costs in purchasing a new system.
Throughout the implementation, we transitioned from an old, antiquated
system to the new robust system, immediately capturing orders not previously
recognized or accepted.
In addition, they immediately recognized savings in Service Bureau fees that
were purchased with the equipment and excessive for what they needed.
Results
A first year savings of about $500,000.
A 95% efficiency improvement and accuracy improved to nearly 100%.
ROI was less than 6 months.
